Checklists and explanations

The study plan is not a separate document that has to be submitted in the application process, but an overview of how the courses of the semester abroad fit into your study plan of the modules still to be completed in your degree program. For Erasmus+-funded semesters abroad, there is a recognition obligation, i.e. at least part of the credits earned abroad must be creditable for your studies at RPTU. Please note: At least 5 courses or 25 ECTS must be taken at the host university and at least 10 ECTS must be recognized at RPTU.

The study plan is an excellent basis for the letter of endorsement(form), which must be submitted with the application documents. In this form, you record - in consultation with the partnership coordinator - which courses from the partner university you wish to have credited for which courses at RPTU. This is also the basis for your subsequent (Digital) Learning Agreement!

Note on the letter of endorsement: Please set the lines so that it is clearly recognizable which courses/modules are to be credited for which at RPTU. Make a clear distinction between individual courses and modules. Do not forget to specify the credit points for the courses/modules (for both universities). The partnership coordinator must also be able to clearly identify the target semester in which you wish to study (tick winter/summer semester).

You will receive your signed letter of support back if you are accepted for a place at the partner university. Please upload this signed letter of endorsement to MobilityOnline with your application documents.

First of all: Attention! There are 2 deadlines for submitting your application:

  • January 10 to the partnership coordinator
  • January 31 in Mobility Online

Please submit the following application documents to the partnership coordinator by January 10 at the latest:

  • Letter of motivation (addressed to the partnership coordinator of your department at RPTU)
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Current transcript of records (from Klips or the University Examination Office, with failed attempts)
  • Passport photo (no requirements, you should only be recognizable)
  • Letter of endorsement

If the partnership coordinator gives his or her approval, you can upload your complete documents to Mobility Online . Attention, the deadline is January 31st!

Other documents that you must provide during the process via Mobility Online are

  • a (digital) Learning Agreement based on the courses in the letter of endorsement
  • Proof of language proficiency, if applicable
  • If applicable, a declaration on your honor or proof that you are entitled to additional funding (students with a child / with a disability / with a chronic illness / with continuous employment / as a first-time graduate)

The Learning Agreement is a central document in the exchange process.

A Learning Agreement (LA) is an agreement between the student, the RPTU and the host university in which the study contents and their recognition are recorded.

1. the letter of endorsement is a preparation of the content of the LA. Together with your partnership coordinator, determine which courses abroad you want to have credited for which courses/modules at RPTU.

2. if you are intended for an exchange place at a partner university (also called "nomination"), you then create a Digital Learning Agreement (DLA) in Mobility Online based on the letter of endorsement, which is signed in the system by you as well as the coordinator of your department and the coordinator at the partner university. Both coordinators can ask you to make changes before they accept it (In exceptional cases, the partner university does not work with DLA, so the LA must be sent as a PDF. This currently applies to the University of Padua).

3. at the beginning of the course at the host university, it may be that, contrary to earlier planning, individual courses are not offered, you realize that there are time overlaps or that the content seems too simple or similar. In such a case, please use the application for Changes to Learning Agreement in Mobility Online at the beginning of your studies abroad and upload an updated complete overview of the recognition planning (table from the letter of endorsement).

4. at the end of your stay, submit the final status with the Learning Agreement after the Mobility (without signature from the host university).

Online Language Support (OLS) is offered via the EU Academy.

In addition to self-study language courses, placement tests can also be taken here, which are recognized in the Erasmus+ area.

Free access should be linked to Erasmus+ mobility, but it is currently free of charge.

*¹Choosea host university: For stays at universities that are not partners, you must contact the university of your choice before starting the application process and obtain confirmation that you can spend a semester abroad there.

*²Createa study plan/find a reviewer: As there is no clear partnership coordinator, find a person from your department to discuss the study plan with you. This may or may not be the same person who will write the review.

* You will need to contact the host university yourself, i.e. you will need to find out when and how you need to apply there.
