A stay abroad
is not only professionally and culturally exciting, but also brings with it a wide variety of challenges as well as intensive and wonderful experiences and enriches your whole life!
Students have various options for a stay abroad: semesters abroad with or without financial support, dual degree programs with selected partner universities, final theses or internships abroad.
Good and, above all, timely planning and organization are essential! You should start about 1 year (for the winter semester) to 1.5 years (for the summer semester) in advance!
It is up to the students themselves to decide where to go, which funding to apply for and what their individual course of study should look like. The contact persons from the Department of International Affairs in Landau will help with the organization, contact persons for technical questions (course planning, recognition) are available in the department.

Stay abroad and PsychThG
If you are aiming to take a licensing examination under the new Psychotherapists Act (Reform 2020), make sure that you do not have any content from a stay abroad recognized that is regulated by the licensing regulations (PsychThGApprO)!
Many questions regarding the assessment of achievements from a semester abroad when registering for the licensing examination are still unresolved. Risks when registering for the licensing examination at the state examination offices after your studies are therefore difficult to assess at present. For Rhineland-Palatinate, we have a high degree of certainty that recognition granted by the university will not be subsequently called into question; we do not have this information for other federal states. Nevertheless, a semester abroad is possible in principle. The KLIPP3 module is suitable for recognition in the KliPP Master's program.
