Research

The research activities at the Department of Psychology at RPTU are diverse and dynamic. We deal with mental health, diversity and exclusion, the interaction of people and their natural environment, communication on long-term crises, media use and political processes, as well as the development and testing of diagnostic instruments for basic research and practical application, and much more. Interdisciplinary cooperation across disciplinary boundaries is becoming increasingly important. A look at the main research areas gives an impression of current research activities.

The department's competitively acquired third-party funding amounts to around EUR 1 million per year (of which approx. 2/3 is DFG funding). Infrastructure elements such as the psychotherapeutic outpatient clinics and the department's psychophysiological laboratory, which was established in 2018, support the research activities, as do central facilities under the scientific direction of members of the department (Methods Center, Media Center, Center for Empirical Pedagogical Research).
