Bachelor's degree program in Psychology

Psychology is the science that studies the experience and behavior of people as a function of internal and external factors using a variety of methods. The course also includes scientific and mathematical/statistical sub-disciplines. Empirically based theories are combined with psychological fields of application.

As part of the B.Sc. Psychology at RPTU, you will acquire all the important knowledge of psychological principles, methods and contexts. You will learn to analyze and understand psychological phenomena and to investigate them using modern methods. The course also includes scientific and mathematical/statistical sub-disciplines. Empirically based theories are combined with psychological fields of application.

A particular highlight of the Bachelor's program is its practical relevance: you work on scientific projects, take part in internships and can focus on special topics such as clinical psychology and psychotherapy, educational psychology, business psychology and communication and media psychology in elective modules. The course lays the foundation for later specialization in a Master's degree or entry into a wide range of professional fields, for example in market research, personnel development or consulting.

Master's program in Psychology

With the M.Sc. Psychology you can expect a broad-based education with a wide range of specialization options, both research and application-oriented.

The course offers a wide range of elective options, including in the fields of work and organizational psychology, political psychology, environmental psychology, media psychology and psychological research methods. The focus is on scientific work, methodological competence and individual profile development.

Master's program in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy

The M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy (KliPP) is aimed at students seeking a license to practice as a psychotherapist. The degree program combines in-depth training in diagnostics, intervention and therapeutic procedures with practical training components and meets the legal requirements of the Psychotherapists Act.

Both programs are characterized by a personal learning environment, dedicated teaching staff and a close connection between research and practice - for a successful start to a professional career in psychology or an academic career.

During the orientation phase , you are invited - even before the first lectures begin - to get to know the university and the city with students who have been in Landau for a while.

During the introductory week , we teachers introduce ourselves. There is detailed information on each subject, we report on our research interests and you can ask questions.

The mentoring program also begins with the lectures. Students from higher semesters supervise first-semester students in groups of around 15 first-year students. In these groups, topics are dealt with that should make it easier for you to start your studies, acquire the necessary certificates and successfully pass the examinations
