Course of study
At the beginning of your studies, you will learn the basics of psychological thinking and empirical-scientific work. You will be introduced to quantitative research methods in the statistics modules I and II, which will enable you to analyze psychological data. In the research-oriented practical course and the modules on diagnostic procedures, you will develop your ability to apply psychological tests and procedures.
In the area of general psychology, you will deal with the fundamental topics of perception, cognition and motivation, while the modules on developmental psychology, differential and personality psychology and social psychology will cover specific areas of psychological development and social interaction.
In addition, you have the opportunity to specialize in various application fields of psychology: Clinical psychology, communication and media psychology, educational psychology and business psychology offer exciting choices for future careers or further study. The Bachelor's thesis and the work-related internship allow you to apply your knowledge in practice and gain an initial insight into professional fields of activity.

Free study part
The free study part (module B.N.1) comprises 12 credit points, which are not tied to fixed modules or courses and which students can freely decide to acquire.

1. attendance of courses in the B.Sc. Psychology of the Department of Psychology, unless this takes place elsewhere within the B.Sc. program
2. project work offered by one of the working units of the Psychology department
3. attending courses or completing project work in other
degree programs at RPTU
4. attending courses or completing project work at other
universities within or outside Germany
5. attending courses to teach key skills
(academic writing, presenting, etc.)
6. attending courses that were specificallydesignedfor the free workload as additional
courses (e.g. an in-depth seminar on one of the
basic subjects in the B.Sc. psychology program that is not continued in the Master's program)
It is not normally possible to take courses from Master's degree programs.
1. select a course in the Psychology degree program or another degree program at RPTU or another university
2. contact the lecturer and clarify whether you can earn points for the free study part of the Bachelor's degree in Psychology in his/her course. If yes, discuss with him/her directly how many points you can earn and what you have to do to earn them.
3 You complete the course.
4. have your performance certified by the lecturer(form in the download area). Please obtain the original signature from the lecturer.
5. after you have collected all points, please send the form to Anja Hoßmann (a.hossmann[at]rptu.de) at the Dean's office Psychology.
